Dillon Beach Family Session
Dillion Beach is on the northern most border of Marin County and has the cutest little vacation cottages for rent at Dillion Beach Resort. Often families come here from all over the bay area! Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing three generations on this beach as they met for the yearly family vacation. The beach has incredible rock formations and tide pools, which is a great backdrop for a generational family photo shoot. If you are interested in photos on Dillion beach contact us here!

Sonoma County Mustard Flower Mommy and Me Session
Fields of lush yellow flowers signal one thing in Sonoma County, winter is on the way out and Spring is around the corner! Mustard is actually a super invasive non native plant to this area. It was brought to California by the Spanish, and it is very hard to get rid of. It does especially well in areas that are damaged or disturbed, like fire zones or land dug up for farms and roads. Ecology aside, the sweeping fields of yellow mustard flowers will forever epitomize Sonoma County in my heart.
This winter I had a mom reach out to me saying that her favorite color is yellow, and she always wanted photos in these flowers with her children. We headed over to The Happy Dahlia Farm, which plants mustard as a cover crop in the winter, to have a sun drenched yellow adventure with her girls.
As Moms we are so often behind the camera, capturing memories for our families. I am here to tell you it is SO important to have photos with you in them! Photos that. you love, and maybe not just the random cell phone snaps or selfies. I make a point to have photos taken of my family every year, and the number one request I have for our photographer is please capture me with my kids! I hope that you do the same, and if you would like to schedule a family or mommy and me portrait session in the flowers please contact me here! We have more flower coming throughout the summer. Lavender in June and July, Dahlias in August and September!
I can’t wait to celebrate all you Moms out there and the love you have for your families! Remember to show up in the photos the way you show up in their lives. XO
Fairy Sisters- Santa Rosa Storybook Photos
One upon a time there were two adorable little sprites who came to play with me in the woods of Sebastopol. We had so much fun adventuring through Ragle Park while capturing their magic. Fairy photo sessions will forever be one of my absolute favorites. The magic and wonder in the children’s eyes is everything.
When booking a fairy photo session with Angelika Mitchell Photography all the wardrobe and prop rentals are included in your session fee. We have so many choices of fairy dresses in all sizes, and our wings are custom made in Canada out of the most beautiful iridescent film. We have many choices for the wings in different shapes and sizes, and plenty for matching sibling sets! We have another artist who makes all of our flower crowns and headbands. We also have a swing made of flowers which is always so much fun for the kiddos to swing on. Are you looking for more information on a fairy storybook photo session for your children? Football is Life! - Marin County Soccer Branding Session
There are some photo shoots that just end up being so much fun! When one of my favorite clients asked me to shoot some photos of her son’s soccer team for social media, I was a little unsure. I do a lot of photo shoots of children, but I have never really done any sports photography. They really wanted photos of the team with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. As fabulous as the bridge is, it can be hard to shoot depending on which direction you come from. We chose Sausalito as the perfect location and prayed for good weather. You see, this shoot was scheduled in the middle of weeks of rain. The weather gods smiled on us, and this was the only clear afternoon that entire week!
Now this mighty team has dozens of fun photos for content for their social media campaigns. Their instagram has photos for weeks, and we even made a Reel for them. Are you ready for a branding and content session of your own? Contact us here for your free consultation. We can brainstorm together what your needs are, map a blueprint for your content for several months and even design and create reels/ tiktok content for you!
Sunset Family Session- Sonoma County Family Photos
There is this magical spot in Sonoma County where you are blessed with the most gorgeous sunset in all the land. This spot is perched above the Petaluma Valley, so you get to watch the sun drop down bathing the valley in the most beautiful golden light. I absolutely love this park for family photos. In the fall you have the most beautiful palate of wheat and lichen colors. In the spring the park is bursting with all the shades of green mother nature has to offer.
This gorgeous family chose the magical sunset for the backdrop of their family photos this year and I just love the way they turned out! Their last family photos session was in Napa Valley at a winery, which is another favorite spot of mine.
These gorgeous oak tress are dripping in lichen all year long. I love the way the light hits the tress perfectly bathing the family in the golden glow we all look for in sunset family photos.
Are you thinking it might be time to update your family photos? If you would love pictures like these with the gorgeous sunset and pastoral views, contact us here for your free consultation. Sonoma County really is the perfect backdrop and your photo art will look so gorgeous in your home!
The Fairy and her Magical Creatures
Once upon a time there was a little fairy who loved magical creatures of all kinds. She loved dragons, and unicorns and even smaller fairies. She went on an adventure in the forests of Sonoma County and came upon many the magical creature. All which made her heart sing!
This little fairy had special magic all her own. She was kissed by angels in her journey through this land, and the angels gave her an extra little bit of sparkle which the creatures could sense.
Even the dragons of the woods were not afraid of our little fairy, rather they came to cuddle up with her, telling each other stories and kicking the water, and giggling the afternoon away.
Do you have a magical creature of your own who would love to have their forest adventures documented? You can contact the story tellers here.
Cherry Blossoms
In the spring time, the fruit and nut trees treat us to a wonderful season of blossoms. Almond trees blossom first, and later in the spring we get cherry blossoms. Sadly, Sonoma County doesn't have a lot of orchards with these sorts of blossoms. Every spring we go on a pilgrimage to the central valley of California to find blooming trees. Last year we went to Yuba City, and this year to the town of Walnut Grove.
I can't wait for you to see these two darling sisters and their adventures in the cherry blossoms. I just love how the trees make the perfect backdrop for portraits. What speaks to childhood more than running free through an orchard?
Is there anything sweeter than sisters? I grew up with two sisters, and even though I didn't always appreciate them when I was young- I am so glad to have them now. I also LOVE looking back at all the photos of us in our matching dresses. (puffy sleeves aside) It's so sweet to see us growing through the years, and I am forever grateful that my Dad made those memories for us and that my Mom made sure we were well styled. I think my love for child photography is rooted in my experiences with a photographer Dad and my appreciation of all the memories he captured for us. Even now my kids love looking through my childhood albums.

Vineyard Princesses- Sonoma County Child Photogapher
I am so very behind in blogging. I have so many sessions to share, so get ready! The summer ended up primarily as family time for us. We took several trips around the Bay Area and out of state. My son went on his first solo vacation with the grandparents (yikes!) and we spent a lot of our time making memories. Now that school in back in session, I can settle in a share with you all the magical photos we took this summer in beautiful Sonoma County. I also have some fantastic underwater photos from our trip to Hawaii and I can't wait to share.
As always, watching children grow before my eyes is my favorite part of being a child photographer. It's such an honor to be part of the progress of a family. These beautiful girls were tiny fairies for me two years ago. It's amazing how much older they seem in two short years! This year we all went to Castello di Amorosa in Napa to make their magical princess dreams come true.
In the heat of the summer, the vineyard all around the castle is in full bloom. The bright sun and the fresh green make the castle just scream summer in the wine country. I love the way the bright summer colors make the pastel color palette the girls chose really pop.
Right next to the vineyards of the castle is a redwood grove. Nothing says Sonoma county like redwoods. (really the whole North Bay) The redwood trees made for a really lovely added scene for these princess photos. The light is moody, and the colors rich and dark. It's hard to believe these pictures were taken mere steps away from the bright summer vineyard! Castello di Amorosa really provides a lovely and varied backdrop to any portrait session.
I can't wait to see how these gorgeous girls grow, before we know it they will be teens ready for their quinceanera, prom, senior photos. Where is the pause button when you need it?
Baby Cullen- Santa Rosa Newborn Photographer
Once upon a time a little baby was born into this world, full of hope and wonder. His parents were overjoyed to have this newborn baby join their family. When baby Cullen was only 7 days new they ventured out to my little studio in Sebastopol (just outside Santa Rosa) so baby could have his first play date with me.
I really love newborns. I have always said toddlers are my favorite child age, but newborns are a close second. There is something so special about the "I just got here" vibe they have. And the sleepy baby smiles, the best. When I know I have a newborn coming in, it makes my whole week.
If you are pregnant and thinking about a newborn photo session in our studio in Sebastopol, or in your home in Sonoma, Napa or Marin counties please follow this link.
